Introduction to Wild Caving

April 27 & April 29

6:00 p.m. & 9:00 a.m.
$5.00 per person

The Perryville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a caving class for everyone in the community

Perryville is home to many caves and we are offering a chance to explore a few throughout the city. Caving is the art of safely moving through a natural cave to a destination and returning to the surface without hurting yourself or the cave. In order to explore safely, you will need the right equipment, the right skills and the right guides. Mark Brewer and Gerry Keene are expert guides with the Southeast Missouri (SEMO) Grotto. Join them for an educational session on the dos and don'ts of caving and then explore one of the many caves of Perryville!

The educational class will meet on Thursday, April 27 at 6:00 p.m. The exploring class is Saturday, April 29 at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $5.00 for all. You must be age 7 or older to participate, those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please register by Wednesday, April 26.
